No, I haven't tried it (yeah, I know I should have). I just don't have
any code at the moment to hit up against my vended object to see if
it's still around after setRootObject:nil. I will try this and see if
it works when I get to the client part.

Contrary to that linked post, I would expect that setRootObject:nil
would do it. However, I haven't investigated with any rigor.
Have you tried it and found it to not work?
