NDA wasn't an issue with the original question, so I just kept my trap shut about it.

... and if I recall correctly, to answer the OPs question on cocoa-dev (as opposed to, say, Omni's list, hint-hint) would also be breaking the rules since there's no public API to get the name of the connected device and we're not technically allowed to discuss using private API here either.
