why even simple things get asked again and again.
Yes, exactly. I think there is a dearth of good examples and a
difficulty in finding the keywords to use when googling.
The apple docuentation pages are good but if they are to be truly
informative then they should provide examples - after all, who can
get back into documentation even of things they know about without
having to take some time to revise the subject and a picture, aka
example, is wortth a thousand words.
I just can't believe how long it took me come up get shell script
executed without all pipe filling deadlock problems and so on. This is
so basic stuff and I wasted hours on that.
Wasted hours, that's exactly it, and I feel so incredibly stupid.
I had thought of getting to grips with cocoa quite a few times over
the past few years but each time i dived in i had to get out because
the learning curve was way too steep. This last time I could not see
any other way of achieving the software i'm building so I had to
grasp the nettle but just the "tearing one's hair out by the roots"
rage and frustration!!!!
