Well, it'll be interesting to see what effect this newfound popularity has on the Cocoa community. One suspects a certain amount of iPhone-fueled "irrational exuberance" when tickets are being scalped at these rates. A couple years ago, scalpers were going begging at $900 only days beforehand.

In any case, I'm skipping it deliberately this year: after attending since the San Jose days, two years ago WWDC became, for me, just impossibly crowded. Even answering calls of nature was a problem at times - hate to think what that'll be like this year! (someone mentioned Moscone West is max-rated for 6075 occupants)

Back then, difficulties with insufficient and poor food, being unable to get into many sessions, not to mention being barked at by overzealous "seating police" made me decide to skip WWDC until it can be moved to a larger venue. There are only so many sessions useful to each person, and if spending $4000+ on travel, hotel, and e-ticket can't get you into them, and in some degree of comfort, what's the point.

I'm hopeful the sellout will enable ADC to unleash Developer iTunes - with the event sold out, there's little reason not to sell session videos a la carte.
