I haven't seen this exactly, but I've seen other glitches in regular
AppKit views when they're embedded in a superview that has a CALayer.
In my case I wasn't even running any animations; I only enabled layers
so I could set alpha values on the views.
Seems like AppKit bugs to me. I don't know how you could work around
this. :(
