If that doesn't work, delay some of those messages using -
performSelector:withObject:afterDelay:, using a delay of .001.

If all that doesn't work, I'd look at the split view.
Unfortunately, there isn't enough information to go on to really
determine the problem.
Something is probably not tiling or redrawing the table, for some
reason or another.
1. How are you "changing" the datasource?
2. How are you reloading the table after changing the datasource?
3. What is the bt when the numberOfRowsInTableView is called?
