windowDidExpose: When called?

Hi all:
I need a delegate that gets called whenever the window appears on the
screen. The opposite of windowWillClose:, so to say.
However,
- (void)windowDidExpose:(NSNotification *)notification
does not get called via any of the following methods:
[windowController showWindow:self];
[[windowController window] orderFront:self];
[[windowController window] orderBack:self];
The delegate works; for example, windowWillClose: gets called.
Any idea?
Cheers,
Claus
