Does it? The likelihood is that the animation is performed using a
regular interval, but the position is modified according to the S-
curve function. With only 7 steps of animation, it's probable that you
are just not noticing the easing in and out, which doesn't deviate
that much from the linear.
You could try temporarily making a much slower animation so you get a
lot more steps, and see if the effect becomes noticeable.
