I suppose it is worth mentioning that getxattr() won't work as a way of getting the Finder information if the drive you're using is formatted with a filesystem that doesn't support attributes. But on HFS+ I think it's a good bet that the attribute name won't change (unless the format of the data changes dramatically, and in that case you need more code anyway).
