I am wondering whats the best approach to handle the key view loop in a
custom NSView that consists of several sub-views that the user can tab
between?

I've used [NSWindow recalculateKeyViewLoop] but my views might have been laid out in such a way that this happened to conveniently do what I wanted. Note there's also setAutorecalculatesKeyViewLoop: and a check box in IB.
