How to determine the type of a motherboard controller

Hi,

First I apologize if it's not the right list to ask this question.

How do I get the class-code definition of a motherboard controller ?

All I can do right now is to retrieve the value of this key using IOKit but where this code is defined ?

For example, it's seems that audio controller class-code is 00 03 04 00 but there should be an easier way to determine the type of a motherboard controller like KIO(something)Class.
