Core Video - Getting Started

  • Subject: Core Video - Getting Started

Hi,

I'm planning a project where I'll be running somewhere between 15 and 20 videos on screen, any number of them could be playing at the same time (not necessarily in sync).

I got an example running with Core Animation and Layers using very little code, actually adapted from: http://www.cimgf.com/2008/09/10/core-animation-tutorial-rendering-quicktime-movies-in-a-caopengllayer/

But, the final intention would be to have a bunch of videos moving around on screen. So, I thought it would be better to build this using the Core Video frameworks.

I am looking through the CoreVideo(101,102,103...) example projects now.

I'm wondering if anyone can confirm that I should be going in this direction or not?

Thanks,
