I am not certain exactly what you are doing, but I have been able to
successfully do this. I have a case where I need to do my own
NSOutlineView...hence group rows which show or hide content based on
the state of the disclosure triangle. As such, I am altering the
height of the content being managed by the NSScrollView and haven't
experienced any problems with this.
I'm not in front of my code at the moment, but if you haven't receive
a response by the time I am, I will take a closer look. In the
meantime, posting exactly what you are doing to change the document
view size might be helpful.
