Define keyboard shortcut in System Preferences programmatically

Hello all!

I'm developing a plugin for some application which is accessible through it's menu bar, but unfortunately it's SDK doesn't allow to define keyboard shortcuts for menu items. If I define such shortcut in System Preferences for this application only it works just fine, but I'd really like to save efforts for my users and create this shortcut automatically from my application when it installs the plugin.
So the question is - is there way to create such shortcut programmatically?

Thanks!
Andrey
