I've been toying around with Collection Views and I get the following error after using a collection view for a while :

I have no CA layers whatsoever. The only animation is provided by the Collection View itself.
The error is logged after either clicking on a collection view item or anywhere else on the collection view.
It is sometimes logged many times in a row after just one click.

NSCollectionView uses Core Animation (by default? always? I can't recall). However, it is odd that your getting such a small layer request. If you can figure out why this might be worth a bug.
