No, I don't recall having that problem -- the rank would stay set when
I selected a different row. But, Ken, I don't want to go and break it
again to re-test. What I was doing was completely wrong and we risk
misleading casual readers by further discussing it.
Now, I've got my Content, Content Values and Selected Object all bound
to the same array controller with Controller Key as arrangedObjects,
and the three model key paths are allowedRanks,
allowedRanks.rankDisplayName, and rank, respectively. (Of course I'm
translating from my real project's symbols to the
DepartmentAndEmployees example).
It's very conventional, logical if I think about it, and beautiful,
and it works.
