I don't know if distributed objects is up to the task of sending large
files. As an experiment, I tried sending megabyte text files across the
network through the notification system, and it would freeze up the station
for a while. My client is really just a stupid terminal which downloads all
of the files required to run the station, including pictures, mp3's, and
even video.

There are a few http servers implemented in Cocoa, would that work for
downloading files?
