On a related sidenote, I saw that the Finder AppleScript dictionary has a couple of properties for its folder type that seem to deal with list views:

"completely expanded", which has the description of:

"(NOT AVAILABLE YET) Are the container and all of its children opened as outlines? (can only be set for containers viewed as lists)"

"expanded":

"(NOT AVAILABLE YET) Is the container opened as an outline? (can only be set for containers viewed as lists)"

"expandable":

"(NOT AVAILABLE YET) Is the container capable of being expanded as an outline?"

So, it seems I may have a shot at this again if and when these properties are fully implemented

Cheers,

André
