Binding or notification

I would like to do something similiar as canAdd, canRemove.

I would like to display the number of table rows in a text field (label). I thought to do it in the same way as you can control the edit-status of a button. I have learned that this can be easily done by linking the "canAdd" method with the edit status.

So I have extended the NSArrayController class by adding a new method numberOfRows. Since the value of numberOfRows changes each time I insert an object, it would be necessary to link the managedObjectContext to numberOfRows. I am not sure what kind of technique has been used with canAdd.

Formerly, I would have subclassed theNSArrayController.

Has some a hint, how to do it the new/different way?
Michael
