my datasource/tableview is copied from another project that does exactly the same thing and it scrolls just fine. The console/ debugger etc. show nothing is amiss.

Ashley posted what is most likely the problem.

FWIW, to solve issues like this, use 'sample' and Shark. Include the sample and shark outputs in your emails to the list and it will help expedite your answer (or, possibly allow you to figure out the problem yourself).
