How to check whether a application is launch or not...?

HI All,
At the starting of my application i am trying to find out whether Time machine is launched or not. I tried to use NSWorkSpace API launchedApplications
but i get every application that is launched except Time Machine. Is there a Problem in my approach. or there is other way to do it.
