Thanks for all the comments on the licensing. I understand GPL has heavy
restrictions on how the code is used, and I should have put more details in
the last paragraph of my post: I'm actually fairly flexible on giving custom
license (say BSD or LGPL) to project owners who contact me. However,
depending on the case, I would ask for no compensation (say for a freeware
or small shareware) or some reasonable compensation (for a *real* commercial
product).

Note that there are currently 2 commercial projects using parts of PolKit.
