Suit yourself, but no matter which way you look at it, your design is
broken, and people are more likely to be able to help if it's coded in
the conventional manner. In the long run, you are just bringing a
world of pain upon yourself for persisting with a bad design. One day
you'll probably come out of the denial and fix it anyway, so it may as
well be sooner.
If your menus are dynamic, as it sounds like they are, the menu
delegate approach is a good way to populate them on the fly while
still allowing you to set up the menus themselves in IB.
