Thanks, yes, I do remember this ... So I could just distribute the app (with included plugins), but a post-flight script would be necessary to index all already existing files with the Spotlight plugin. Which would require user interaction or an installer, so I'm back at my problem: installer or (more or less) complicated installation instructions.
Why is something that simple so difficult to decide ;-)
