My Mac has a single enter/return key (both words appear on the key, I hate
not having a separate enter key). What would you do in that case?

It has return and enter written on it because it doubles as both. Usually, most Mac notebooks, for example, produce a return when you press the return key, and enter when you hold down fn and press the return key.

Which is why (at least on my German keyboard) the "return" arrow is big at the top of the return key, and the little "up chevron with a line above it" enter symbol is small below it.
