It's got little to do with Xcode, your project or build settings.

Look up NSUserDefaults in the documentation. That's where you need to add this setting.

I find it surprising that you are new to Xcode/Cocoa and yet the first thing you think you need to do is strip out this menu. Isn't this trying to run before you can walk?
