CPU speed isn't a problem unless you're building something enormous*.
The limiting factor in most builds is disk I/O throughput. Getting a
system with a 7200RPM disk will help more than getting a faster CPU or
(beyond 2GB) more RAM. See whether the Apple store will let you custom-
build a machine with a fast disk; if not, you can plug in an external
drive with, ideally, a FW800 interface.
