Thank you, Kyle. Yours was the first KVO solution I received, and it seems everyone (Graham and Roland, thank you as well) independently agrees with one another on this. It seems so simple now that I think of it in this KVO fashion. Thanks to everyone for their input and straightforward recommendation, and the pseudocode from Roland just cemented it for me completely. By George, I think I've got it!
