Thanks to all for the kind response.
At this point, I am confident that something broke my permission. I
will just say this was an isolated case.
But this is an alert for us as I was trying to keep a global
Preference of my app that only the Admin can modify and this totally
throws that idea off. (Including some Apple system prefs too.) And if
Repair Permissions does not fix this, it's hard to blame the user for
not maintaining their system.
If anyone has opinions on should an (in this case my) app detect these
insecure permissions and fix them or should be left as is, please let
me know.
