Just to throw in my 2ยข worth... please, please, please don't release an app that assumes all phone numbers are US formatted. I'm fed up with trying to shoehorn my details into US-centric fields. My state abbreviation (NSW) has three characters. My phone number has 8 digits, with a 2-digit state prefix and a 2-digit international dialling prefix. The worst offenders are certain e-commerce websites that refuse to even validate if you cannot enter a valid US state abbreviation. Naturally those sites don't get my business even when I want them to take my money!
