Newbie question for Video Streaming

Hello, Im looking into the dark depths of the API, because I need to stream some video and audio over http, I was reading the HTTP Live Streaming Overview and there its says:
"All devices running iPhone OS 3.0 and later include built-in client software."
I was asking my friend google, and found a very useful code for Audio Streaming, I tested with the server and a .mp3 streaming file and it works wonder, now Im trying to understand what the heck was done.
Now Im looking forward how to implement some video Streaming, the most I did with MPMoviePlayerController loading some videos, but now I need to stream..
can somebody give me some guidelines or light on what to search, or read, in order to implement some very simple video streaming?
