- Thread-topic: Hiding Document Files from iTunes
Thanks. I have now moved the files/folders to a subfolder in the Library
folder. However, I did find the following in the referenced document:
" Applications that support file sharing should be able to recognize when
files have been added to the Documents directory and respond appropriately.
For example, your application might make the contents of any new files
available from its interface. You should never present the user with the
list of files in this directory and ask them to decide what to do with those
files."
The last sentence is especially interesting, considering that this is
exactly what "Pages" does. It presents a list of the new files so you can
then "import" them. In fact, you can import the same file multiple times.
This raises the question for me as to whether or not to delete the
transferred file after it is "imported" into the app's database, and whether
or not to just do this automatically, rather than presenting the list. Then
there is the question of what to do with unsupported file types. For
example, Pages apparently will transfer, but does not support importing, a
.txt file.
