Yes, I know NSOpenPanel etc but Nav services had a cleaner way to display a preview than the accessory view provides. I need to create a preview if my qlgenerator is not installed and since the accessory view look clunky I was just thinking .... oh well, on to clunksville!

For 32-bit apps, yes. For 64-bit apps, no.

I doubt it. Navigation Services was replaced by NSOpenPanel/ NSSavePanel a long time ago.
