textFieldShouldEndEditing called multiple times

Hi,

I've a UITableView with multiple UITextFields. I implemented textFieldShouldEndEditing for the UITextFields. When I enter invalid text followed by return, my textFieldShouldEndEditing is called once and editing continues. When I select another UITextField, textFieldShouldEndEditing is called multiple times. Why is that?
