These classes all inherit from NSObject, so unless they override and change the behavior of "+new" (hint: They don't, that would be crazy) their behavior would have to be the same.
Besides: You just need to learn the memory management guideline (that I quoted a piece from earlier) to know what the behavior is. I understand that it can take a bit of time before this becomes second nature if you're new to Cocoa, but don't worry, there is a very small set of rules and Cocoa is very consistent in this regard, so you'll get used to it in no time.
