For developers it's typically preferable to pass debug user default values as arguments to your executable from within Xcode. Select "Project > Edit Active Executable" in Xcode, and go to the Arguments tab. Hit the plus button to add a new argument:
-NSWindowResizeTime 0.1
When you launch the app (or in this case unit test) from Xcode, the argument would be passed along and set in the user defaults of the new process.
