Well, it's not the cell size.  I found that I could increase the cellSize.width of my raw NSTextFieldCell by doing something like this:

[aCell setStringValue:@"Gagikostoupomolis A. B. C. Geiristomzkimcbliskewicz"] ;

But the tooltip is still clipped :(

How can we do custom table cells in Mac OS 10.6 without breaking the tooltip?
