FWIW, my 2 cents ... once we added 'Reveal in Finder' our customers got a lot happier.

No. You'll have to recreate this yourself or call upon Finder.

Note: I do not want to launch Finder from my app.

Finder is always running, so the established convention is to have a "Reveal in Finder" control to show the item in the Finder.
