You actually need to mess with the view’s bounds after changing the frame, otherwise you get the normal behavior of the view just getting larger without scaling anything up. Specifically, you want to get the view’s bounds, change the frame, then restore the old bounds. That way the view’s internal coordinates stay the same while its world coordinates get larger, which scales its contents.
