Way to select a file in NSOpenPanel

Hi,
I need a way to select a file programmatically in browser list of
NSOpenPanel based on some user action, while the panel is running.
Similar to Navigation services NavCustomControl() with
NavCustomControlMessage:kNavCtlSetSelection.
