I didn't realize that the "No assumption should be made" part was also referring to "Prior Mac OS X 10.5", that was my trouble. So I think the new working wouldn't have saved me either.
If the heading was "Special Considerations prior Mac OS X 10.5" it would be crystal clear even to me.
