Noob iPhone Question

Hi,

I am now being approached to develop an iPhone application for one of my clients which will involve storing a cache of previously downloaded images.  My question is whether or not there are constraints as to how my storage space I have at my disposal, and whether any of you have a link to further reading on this subject?
