Yes, though if you do this:

- (IBAction) action:(id) sender;

Then it will be visible to IB and you can connect it up there, instead of having to code it. Target/Action is a fundamental Cocoa technique - you really ought to read up on it and have it down pat, you won't get far without knowing it well.
