No one who actually knows anything about Lion is allowed to talk about
it. NDA, you know? Just saying.

My take on it is, when they were first introduced drawers were
horribly over-used. As you say, they were all the rage. Since they
were "teh new shiny," they were tacked onto every second app with
little to no thought as to whether they would actually improve the
user experience or not. Now that they're no longer new and novel,
we're seeing some sanity return, with many developers backing away
from excessive or nonsensical use of them.

So, I don't think Apple's stance on drawers has changed a great deal -
it was, and still is, that they should be used where their use makes
sense and improves the user experience.
