CFURLWriteDataAndPropertiesToResource as root?

  • Subject: CFURLWriteDataAndPropertiesToResource as root?

Hello,

Under Tiger, Leopard, and Snow Leopard I use CFURLWriteDataAndPropertiesToResource to store some data into a file. On Lion the default permissions appear to have been upgraded almost everywhere and consequently the code below isn't succeeding. Is it possible to run the below code as root from Cocoa?

SInt32 errorCode;
Boolean status = CFURLWriteDataAndPropertiesToResource(file_url, xml_data, NULL, &errorCode);

Thanks,
Stephen
