The problem is probably that OS X already includes a UTI for .iso: public.iso-image. Your best bet is probably to use public.iso-image instead. You’re probably also going to have trouble with .img, which OS X recognizes as com.apple.disk-image-ndif, and with .bin, which is com.apple.macbinary-archive. Since you don’t actually seem to be going for MacBinary with the latter, you’re probably better off just going by filename extension for .bin.
