Canceling all touches

  • Subject: Canceling all touches

I'm looking for a 'legal' way to cancel all the currently in-progress touches, exactly like they are cancelled when a UIAlertView is shown. After hours of searching (documentation, googling), I've come up empty. I see that the undocumented _cancelAllTouches in UIApplication is exactly what I want, and it works just like I want it too. Is there a good reason why this method isn't public? Is there any alternate, 'legal' way of canceling an in-progress touch? I can't seem to find any. (My code needs to receive the actual cancel message - not just ignore the touchMoved events.)

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Regards,
Jon Brooks
