I guess it all depends on what you mean by "the fast forward overlay button". The remote control events are for events sent by the remote interface - that is, the buttons in a physical device (such as the earphones that come with an iPhone), or the buttons that you see when you double-click the Home button and swipe left.
But if you are referring to the buttons that are *part* of the MPMoviePlayerController's view interface, then those have nothing to do with remote control.
