I think that you will have to access the info window resource using scripting.
Depending on the complexity of what you require AppleScript might be the easiest approach.
If AppleScript is not on the cards try the scripting bridge. This can achieve the same result as the AS approach but generates the necessary events from ObjC land instead.
You can get the SB definition file for the Finder as follows:
sdef "/System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app" | sdp -fh -o -
