Online NSPrinters

Heya,

The NSPrinter documentation says it will return nil of the specified printer passed to +printerWithName: is not available.  Apparently being "available" does not correspond to being "online" as listed in System Preferences.  Is there a sane way to check if a printer is connected and ready to go?
